Applications & Requests

  • Utility companies must fill out our utility/right-of-way permit application if doing work in Town. All permits should be submitted online through CommunityConnect. Register for a CommunityConnect account here. 
  • Commercial or Residential Driveway that encroaches upon the Town's road requires a permit.  All permits should be submitted online through CommunityConnect. Register for a CommunityConnect account here. 

Mission & Responsibilities

If you have an emergency please call 911 and report the emergency.  The Town's Police Department will communicate with the Public Works Department as needed. 

The Public Works Department's pledge is to serve the residents of this great community. This department's responsibilities are extremely numerous and cover a wide range of job functions.

Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of the Town's many buildings and structures, streets, street rights-of-way, Town owned property lawn maintenance contracts, Town owned stormwater infrastructure, the disposal of road kill within the Town's rights-of-way, and the Town's sewerage system.  The Public Works Department has an Environmental Specialist that oversees land disturbance permitting, MS4 regulations, green infrastructure and low impact development evaluation, grease trap pump outs, educational programs and other environmental issues.  These are just a few of the items that seven staff members of this department works on each day.

The Public Works Department works very closely with the Town's Planning & Zoning, Police Department, Town Clerk, Library, and Recreation Department.
